A most successful night was had by Crotta O Neills in the county semi finals held in Abbeydorney on Friday night. Competing in the ceol uirlise[instrumental music] Crotta O Neills qualified for the county finals to be held in the Gleneagle hotel Killarney on SundayDec 5th. The group members are Paraic Shanahan, Brid O Sullivan, Sinead O Sullivan, Aoife Mahony and Barry Mahony. The group continue to practise hard and we wish them the best of luck in Killarney.

Scor Sinsear competitions will be approaching early in the new year. Any adults over the age of 17 ‘We are looking for your talent’. The competition categories are as follows: figure dancing, solo singing, instrumental music, recitation, ballad group, quiz, Drama [comedy sketch], set dancing. NORTH KERRY HURLING AWARDS
Congratulations to Crotta U11 Captain Barry Mahony who was voted Man of the Match in the U11 NK Championship final where Crotta defeated Causeway last June. Barry received his award last Friday evening at the North Kerry hurling board awards night in Ballyroe Heights Hotel. Well done to all officers in the North Kerry for putting this initiative that is the awards night in place. It is great recognition for all players, their families, coaches and their clubs. Congratulations to Kilflynn man Gerald Whyte on receiving his Merit award from the North Kerry Board. Gerald has lived in Causeway and been part of the Causeway Club for many a year but he still holds Crotta dear in his heart. This is evident upon meeting Gerald and talking hurling with him.
COMMUNITY ALERT:
Thank you to all who supported the Abbeydorney/Kilflynn Community alert recent Church gate collection.
There are a number of smoke alarms available for the Kilflynn area for people aged 65 or over, free of charge and installed free.
Also personal monitored alarms are available for people also aged 65 or over.

CROTTA LOTTO JACKPOT RESULT:
The four numbers picked out of the drum by Independent Observer, Eileen Brennan, Rae, Kilflynn, for the Crotta hurling  weekly Lotto Jackpot of €13,700,and the clubs biggest lotto jackpot ever  on Monday night, 22nd   November in Parker‘s Pub, Kilflynn were: 9,12, 17 and 26. However no one came up with the correct combination of numbers and the Jackpot survived for another week. The Lucky dip prizes winner each receives €35: Padraig Brick, Ballyconnell Heights, Kilflynn, John Brennan, Rae, Kilflynn and Jerome O’Sullivan, Crotta Cross, Lixnaw. Declan Quirke, Tullig, Kilflynn was drawn out for the Christmas draw.
The next draw will take place in Herbert‘s Bar, Kilflynn on Monday 29th  November, with a Jackpot of 13,800. Christmas Draw: One ticket will be drawn on Monday night  29th November and 6th December at the lotto draw , For the Christmas draw in Herbert’s bar on Monday 13th December. NORTH KERRY HURLING JUVENILE AWARDS 2010
The North Kerry Hurling Board held its very impressive Juvenile Awards night, on Friday night 19th November at Ballyroe Heights Hotel,  Officers from the board gave a run down of 120 games through the year also generous sponsorship grants to all clubs, The board had a very large turnout of Parents and Children at this award and gave them great recognition for their achievements for the year and players to look up to with Shane Nolan Captain of the Kerry Under 21 All-Ireland Team and Darragh O’Connell Man of Match for that game both players gave a speech of what players have to do to win matches, Former Crotta officer Gerald White from Causeway was also received with a merit award, Players of the year awards went to Barry Mahoney Crotta( U11 A),Padraig OMahoney St Brendan’s (u11B),Davin Quilter Lixnaw (u13A), Aidan OHalloran Ballyduff ( u13B),Colin Sheehy Lixnaw ( u14A),Padraig Kearney St Brendan’s (u15A),Keith Carmody Causeway (u15B), Enda OHalloran Causeway (u16A) and Local player Michael O’Leary Abbeydorney (u16B). Congratulations to all recipients of 2010 awards, and well done to the North Kerry Hurling Board on a very good presentation
NEW PLAY: SEPTEMBER 82
A new play September 82, celebrating the historic achievements of the greatest Kerry team will be presented in Abbeydorney Community Centre on Friday December 10th, Saturday December 11th and Sunday December 12th at 8 pm Tickets at the door €10 with free programme. The play is set in a bar in a small north Kerry town and covers the events of the weekend of September 19th 1982 when Kerry were attempting to win five All Irelands in a row. The characters include people scouring the county for tickets, wives who are not happy that their husbands are going to the match and staying over night, pundits who try to predict what the outcome might be, blow in’s who have no interest in the match and chancers who are trying to make a few pound from the event. The play is an edgy and humorous look at the whole weekend and its effect on the Kingdom is presented by The Group Theatre Tralee and is written by Mike O Halloran from Ballyduff.

Jon Kenny, The Screaming Celts and DJ Ray; a fundraiser for Ballyheigue GAA will be held in the Community Centre, Ballyheigue on 4th December at 8.30 featuring Jon Kenny, The Screaming Celts and DJ Ray with bar exemption till 2 am. Tickets are now available from Kirbys Lounge or from members of the committee
COACHING COURSE:
Thanks to all underage coaches who took part in the Level 1 coaching course in Ballyheigue over the last couple of weekends. Anyone that wants to get involved in helping with the coaching of Crotta underage teams please contact Paul O’Donoghue.
SCOR:
 Well done to Crotta Coiste na nOg Scor team who won the North Kerry Music Section and last Friday evening qualified for the County final after competing in Abbeydorney. The team is Aoife Mahony Barry Mahony Brid O’Sullivan Sinead O’Sullivan and Pauiric Shanahan. The County Final is on the 5th December in Gleneagle. Well done to Ann Mahony our Scor officer for her great guidance and organising of the team.
NORTH KERRY FOOTBALL:
Well done to the St Senans U12 football team who won the North Kerry U12 championship last Sunday week. They played superb football on the day and ran out comfortable winners in the end. Some of the dual players on the team were winning a double championship. Crotta had won the County U12 Championship final and St Senans have now won the NK U12 Championship. Congratulation also to Crotta U12 Championship Captain Cathal Kennelly who won the U12 NK Football skills Competition.
