Cul Camp is a huge success

November 8, 2018

The VHI Cúl Camp was a huge success in Edenderry over the last week. The number of boys and girls has increased from previous years, with Tullamore being the only club with bigger numbers.

Over the week the children had a turn at both hurling and football with coaching from some familiar names such as county stars Richie Dalton, Anton Sullivan, Brian Darby, Nigel Dunne, and Edenderry footballers Diarmuid Meleady and Conor O’Donoghue.

In football terms, a number of the senior coaches commented on the final day that the standard was very high, and was probably the best in the county. This is a tribute to the coaches within the Edenderry club at the younger age groups.

On the final day the coaches treated the children to a ‘crossbar challenge’, with Amy Kerrigan and Glen O’Connell both from Rhode finishing in tied first place.
