The East Cork final of the Senior Scór was held in Lisgoold on last Sunday night. Though the participation levels were down on other years it was a good night for Bride Rovers. We had 3 entries and finished with 2 wins and a second. In the Recitation section Elaine Keane took first place with a great delivery of an excerpt from “The Plough and the Stars” by Sean O’Casey. In the Novelty Act our cast of Liam Barry, Orla Arnold, John Arnold, James Bermingham and Donal Arnold performed ‘Red Tape’ and captured the Divisional title and the June Daly Memorial Cup for the 4th year in a row. Killeagh won the Question Time competition with Bride Rovers and Glenville level on 48 marks in second place. Six tie-breakers were necessary to separate the two teams and we came out on top by 6 marks. To cap a great night for the club we were also awarded the Felix Sarsfield Memorial Cup for the best overall team in Senior Scór. John Joe O’Regan of Lisgoold was Fear an Tí.
The County semi finals in this Scór competition are down for decision this weekend. On Saturday night our Question Time team of John Arnold, James Bermingham and Tom Mulcahy travel to Ballinhassig for one semi final. The following night our Novelty Act and Recitation winners have to go to Millstreet for the second semi final. Best of luck to all concerned.
