Davitts B played Kilmovee Shamrocks in the league in Ballindine on Tuesday evening, and were well beaten 1-18 to 1-5. Davitts started brightly and led by 1-2 to 0-3 after ten minutes, with a great Colm Roche goal and points by John Heneghan and James Cummins (making a welcome return in the Davitts colours after his Australian adventures), accounting for the Davitts tally. Kilmovee tagged on six more points before the interval with only one reply from the trusty boot of Con Penny, a real favourite with the home crowd, to leave the halftime score 0-9 to 1-3 in favour of the visitors. Kilmovee confirmed their superiority in the second half, and only for the great defending of Derek Mooney, Martin Cosgrove and Michael Ronayne (up to his withdrawl through injury) and his brother Luke, would have won more emphatically. Davitts only scores in the second half were points by Cosgrove and Josh Ronayne, a player with huge potential.
