Gabriel Sava and Declan ‘Fabio’ O’Brien were both named in the MNS team of the year in the final programme of the popular RTE soccer programme on Monday night. Mick Cooke finally got the honour that he so richly deserved and that had been hinted at throughout the season when he was named Manager of the year.
All Drogheda United supporters will have had a lump in their throat as they watched the programme. It was a fitting end to a truly spectacular season and we are very proud of what the team as a whole has achieved. Soccer is a team sport and this team was an advertisement for how with the right spirit and cooperation, you can achieve anything. Congratulations to Mick, Gabriel and Fabio.
