Drom-Inch GAA club notes

GolfClassic 2010
The annual Drom-Inch GAA golf classic takesplace this coming Friday in Rathdowney Golf course. A great day is ensured andthere are some very nice prizes for those with a more competitive streak inthem!! Thanks to all who sponsored teams or tee boxes and we are very gratefulto these people for their continued support to the club.
Senior
Our seniors are continuing theirpreparations for the championship with several challenge games and panelmatches. They are due to play Cahill Cup on Tuesday next week against MoyneTempletuohy in the Ragg at 7.30pm.
 
Intermediate
On Tuesday evening last our Intermediatehurlers qualified for the county league final for the second year in successionafter they defeated Cahir on a score of 2-17 to 1-6. They now face MoyneTempletuohy in the final in the coming weeks. They turn their attention now tothe championship when they play Clonakenny Sunday morning in Templemore at11.30. Your support would be greatly appreciated.
 
JuniorHurling
On Friday night we played the latest roundof the championship against Moyne Templetuohy in Templetuohy in terribleconditions but this did not take from the contest as both teams needed to winthis to ensure they stayed in the championship. In the end we were defeated by asingle point which now leaves us needing to win the remaining games. It is veryimportant that all players are at training in the coming weeks. The next gamewill be next weekend.
 
JuniorFootball
At time of printing our junior footballerswill have played Loughmore in the first round of the football championship.Training will continue this week keep an eye on the club texts.
 
MinorHurling
Our minors began their championshipcampaign on Wednesday last against Loughmore. The lads gave a great team performanceand were beaten by 2-17 to 1-11 in the end. It is important that all playersattend training as the next round of games is Wednesday next against Moycarkey.
 
Munster Final Puc Fada
The Munsterfinal of the Puc Fada took place in a wind and rain swept Thurles Racecourse onSaturday last. Well done to Shane Hassett who acquitted himself very wellagainst some more experienced competitors and there was very little betweenthem in the end. Congrats to Jackie O Connor who was victorious in the CamogiePuc Fada and now goes on to compete at the Cooley Mountainsin the All Ireland final.

The second part of the Under 6 GAA campwill take place on Friday 16th July from 1:00 – 2:30pm
 
Under 12
Best of luck to the under 12s who aregetting the ultimate experience of playing in Croke Parkon Tuesday 13th July against other clubs from around the country. A dream cometrue for many. We have no doubt they will do the parish proud.
