Drom-Inch GAA Club Notes

November 7, 2018

Draw for Semple Stadium year pass

The club recently held a draw for all paid up members for 2 tickets which will get the holder into all Munster Championship games in Semple Stadium and all Mid and County Championship fixtures that take place in Semple Stadium. The two names drawn were Tom Hassett and Pat Purcell.

Senior Hurling

Congrats to the senior hurlers who defeated Loughmore Castleiney to reach the Mid Semi final after a hard fought win on a score of 1-15 to 1-16. See match report elsewhere. Training will take place over the coming weekend.

Intermediate Hurling

The intermediate hurlers recorded a great win in the first round of the hurling championship on Sunday afternoon over Gortnahoe Glengoole by 3-8 to 1-11. This took a fantastic spirited team effort to record the victory. Next fixture is against Moyne Templetuohy in the coming weeks. Training continues Wednesday night at 8pm in the Ragg

Junior Hurling

The junior hurlers began their championship campaign with a narrow defeat at the hands of Holycross Ballycahill by 4-11 to 2-13. Their attention now turns to Friday night when they play Loughmore Castleiney in Templetuohy @ 8pm. Training continues Wednesday night at 8pm in the Ragg

Under 21 hurling

Our under 21 hurlers resume their championship campaign against JK Brackens on Wednesday 30th June in Templetuohy. A win is vital in this game as it would mean we would top the group and go forward to the semi final. A challenge game will take place on Thursday against Kilruane @ 8pm.

Golf Classic 2010

The Drom-Inch GAA club Golf Classic will take place on 16th July in Rathdowney Golf Club. There are still some tee times available, so it is important to let the committee know what time your team would like to play in order to ensure you can be facilitated. Anyone interested in submitting a team or sponsoring a tee box contact Brian Boyle, Pat Egan or Teddy Kennedy.

Feile 2010

Well done to the Drom-Inch Camogie club who were unlucky to bow out against the eventual winners Lucan Sarsfields (Dublin) in the semi finals on a score of 1-8 to 1-2. Prior to that the girls had 3 big wins over hosts Newmarket –on- Fergus (Clare) 6-12 to 0-1, Ballinascreen (Derry) 6-4 to 2-1 and Courcey Rovers (Cork) 3-7 to 0-1. The girls were a credit to their mentors and their parents and represented the club with pride.

Well done to Brendan Larkin who came second in the Feile skills competition in Clare last weekend. Brendan represented Drom-Inch excellently and showed his wide range of skills throughout the competition and was unlucky not to claim the main prize.
