Drom-Inch seniors back on track

November 7, 2018

Drom-Inch got their senior hurling campaign back on track with a four-point victory over Boherlahan in Holycross last Sunday.  This was a much improved performance on the Round 1 defeat to Moycarkey, but nonetheless Drom-Inch were made to fight hard all the way and the result was in doubt up until the final five minutes.  The game was close in the early stages but in the run up to half time Drom established a six-point lead with some fine points from Paddy Kennedy and Declan Ryan and a superb goal from Seamus Callanan.  The score stood at 1-10 to 0-7 at the break and the Drom defence had given Boherlahan little room.  A somewhat lucky goal for Boherlahan brought them right back into the game mid way through the second half, while Drom-Inch missed some gilt-edged goal opportunities at the other end.  With just a point in it coming into the closing stages, the lads had to dig deep and a goal from sub Michael Everard and points from Callanan and Pat Lupton sealed the win.  Boherlahan scored their second goal at the death.  Overall, a good performance from Drom-Inch, with players returning from injury and good contributions from some of our newcomers.  The next game against big rivals Thurles Sarsfields is at least 5 weeks away.
