GAA MATCH REPORT:
After suffering a heavy defeat at the hands of Finuge on St. Patrick’s day Tarbert Senior team bounced back to have a comfortable win over Duagh in round five of division two in the North Kerry League.
Duagh were first off the mark with two points before Tarbert replied with three points from the boot of Paddy O’Connell. Duagh were quickly in front again with three points in succession. Tarbert upped the ante midway through the half and had three points from David Langan and a point from Paddy O’Connell before they were awarded a penalty which Ambrose Lanigan slotted home. Donal Leahy was soon on target with a goal followed by a point from Paddy O’Connell to leave the half time score Tarbert 2-08 Duagh 0-05.
Donal Leahy was quickly off the mark in the second half with another goal before Duagh were awarded a penalty, which they converted. Duagh had three further points before Tarbert had another penalty awarded, which was again dispatched to the Duagh net by Ambrose Lanigan. Goals by Paddy O’Connell and substitute Eamonn Leahy and a point from Donal Leahy finalized Tarbert’s scoring for the half. In a day in which there were four penalties awarded Duagh narrowed the margin with a goal from a penalty and added another goal and a point from play to leave the final score Tarbert 6-09 Duagh 3-09.
All in all this was a good team performance by Tarbert which sees them qualifying for the play off stages of the League.
