Peat on the double as Jackies crowned Leinster champions
DUBLIN 3-14 MEATH 0-9
Dublin bolted from the blocks to establish an early supremacy they never relinquished in Saturday’s TG4 Leinster Ladies SFC final at Dr Cullen Park, Carlow.
Inside the opening minute Lyndsay Peat had the ball in the back of the Royal for the first of her two crucial goals.
Player of the Match, Noelle Healy, caused all sorts of problems for the Meath defence with her blistering pace and by the interval Peat had added her second goal to help Dublin to an 2-6 to 0-5 interval advantage.
Three minutes into the second half Sinead Aherne hit Dublin’s third goal and there was to be no stopping the Dubs with captain Sinead Goldrick lifting the Leinster Cup as her team now set their sights on an All-Ireland SFC quarter-final next month.
