Elphin GAA CLUB NOTES 13th APRIL 2014

Best of luck to Shane Killoran and the Roscommon Under 21s against Tyrone in the All-ireland Semi-Final on Saturday at 6pm in Sligo. 

Our Seniors began their League campaign with two wins during the past week. They defeated St. Faithleachs by 2-16 to 2-9 on Easter Monday and on Sunday they defeated Clann na nGael by 1-8 to 2-3 thanks to a Man of the Match performance from Fintan Cregg. We host St. Brigids on Sunday at 4pm. 

The Minors were defeated by St. Faithleachs this evening (Monday) on a scoreline of 2-10 to 2-8. Training continues at the usual times this week and a full attendance is requested. 

The Under 16s enjoyed a 3-10 to 3-4 win over Western Gaels. They host St. Aidans on Sunday at 11am. 

The Under 14s were defeated by Kilglass Gaels-St. Barrys on a scoreline of 7-13 to 7-4. They play Castlerea St. Kevins on Thursday at 7pm in the Orchard. 

The Under 12s begin their campaign away to Castlerea St. Kevins on Sunday at 11am. Ahead of that they play St. Michaels in a Challenge on Tuesday evening

The Club is considering running a Bus to bring underage players (in particular) to Croke Park for the Allianz League Finals on Sunday week. Parents are asked to contact no later than this Friday night if the trip would be of interest. Places will be offered on a first come first served basis. 

Training continues for Under 6s 8s and 10s this Saturday at 10am in the Orchard and new players are welcome to register on the day. Parents are reminded that all players must wear a mouthguard. All players are asked to bring water or a similar drink to training. Parents are encouraged to stay and watch the sessions and Teas/Coffees will be available in the Kitchen above the Dressing Rooms.

There was no winner of Saturday's Club Lotto Jackpot, the Numbers Drawn were 1, 13, 18 and 19. The Lucky Dip winners were Michael O'Beirne, Brendan Neary, Aaron McDermott, Frank and Anne Marie Tiernan. This Saturday's Draw takes place in the Tower Inn and the Jackpot will be €1,400. Play now at

The April Club Executive Meeting takes place on Wednesday night at 8:30pm in the Clubrooms.

2015 Membership is now overdue and Officers will be attending upcoming training sessions to collect. All players must be registered before they can play and the rates are as follows: Family (Adults and all School-going children) €100, Adult Player €50, Third Level Player €30, Underage player €20 and non-playing Adult €30.
