Congratulations to our Question Time Team of Luke Shaughnessy, Emmet Keane, Rossa Brennan-Kelly, and Conor Gunn and our Set Dancing Team of Evan and Luke Shaughnessy, Rossa and Oonagh Brennan-Kelly, Sarah and Maria Keane, Sylvia Regan and Ellen Tiernan who both won titles at the Scór na nÓg County Finals in the Dean Crowe Theatre, Athlone on Sunday. The Set Dancers will compete in the Connacht Final next month and the Question Time Team are now through to the All-Ireland Final in the Citywest Hotel, Dublin on February 14th.
This Saturday Elphin GAA, and guests, will perform "The Man from Clare" by John B Keane, a play with a GAA theme and plenty of comedy and romance. The play is the final part of the celebration of the Club's 125th anniversary and features several performers new to the stage, including many of our Senior Footballers. The show which takes place in the Community Centre, starts at 8.30pm and tickets priced at €10 are available on the door.
There was no fully correct entry in our Predict the All-Star competition however there were a number of selections with fourteen out of the fifteen predictions correct. The winner, drawn from these, was Ronan Gavigan c/o Morris Meats and he will receive a Christmas Hamper.
There has been great interest in the Club History Book so far and copies are on sale now from local Shops, from Club Secretary Anne Rock priced at €10. It is also available from the website homepage priced at €20 (which includes postage, packing and transaction fees). The Book is an ideal Christmas Gift, especially for those living away from Elphin.
