Elphin-Ballinameen Underage Round-up

The Minors are due to play Éire Óg in the Championship tomorrow (Wednesday) at 7:30pm in The Orchard.

There was mixed fortunes for the U-12 Teams in their games against Kilbride. The A team lost to Kilbride A by 4-12 to 9-7. It was a great game with everyone on both sides giving their all. Captained by Sam O’Rourke, who was magnificent and ably assisted by Adam Dwer,John Finnerty, Darragh Gilligan, Evan Gunn, Evan Murray, Adam Twocock, Jude O’Rourke, Darragh Callaghan, Colin McGrath, Dylan Scott, James Brennan and Daniel Christie. We lost concentration for the first 5 minutes of the 2nd half, conceeding 6 goals, but to their credit the team came fighting back and were unlucky not to get another 4 or 5 goals. Still it was a great performance all round.

There was better news for the Under 12 B team as they defeated Kilbride B by 2-11 to 2-2. Our Captain was Shane Gormley who was outstanding. He was ably assisted by Man of the Match, Carl Kilmartin, Alex Kielty who played a blinder in goals, John Anthony Quinn – scorer of 1-4 (off left and right feet) Cameron Oates, Casey Durr, Paddy McTeigue, James Brennan, Dylan Scott, Dylan Butler – another player using both feet with aplomb and Chloe Gilligan who scored 2 Great goals (unfortunately one was disallowed). It was a fantastic performance by all involved.

The U-10s play their latest GoGames Blitz in Strokestown on Saturday at 11am.

Two U-8 team played three games each in last weekend’s GoGames Blitz which was hosted by Castlerea St Kevins. Both teams has three games and all the children played fantastic. A big thank you to all the parents who travelled. Coaching continues in The Orchard on this Saturday at 10am.
