Elphin GAA CLUB NOTES 27th OCT 2014

The Under 21s were defeated by Éire Óg on a scoreline of 0-11 to 2-4 in the Championship on Saturday. They host Tulsk in the next round of the competition on Sunday at 1pm. Please support. 

They Juniors have been drawn to face St. Croans in the first Division Three Relegation Play-off. No date has been finalised for the game yet. 

 
We are seeking expressions of interest or nominations for the position of Senior Team Manager for 2015. The closing date is November 10th and the consent of any potential nominee must be sought in advance before their name is proposed. Thank you to all who supported the Under 12s sponsored solo run on Sunday, it was a great success. The panel would also like to thank the parents that provided refreshments, the coaches that organised the event and Peter, Martin and Declan of Elphin Fire Brigade. 

The Under 10 season recently came to a close, thank you to Michael Gormley, John Keane, and Shane Neary for coaching the group this year. 

Our ABC / Nursery programme for all children in the parish aged between 4 and 7 at the Elphin Community Sport Centre continues this Saturday, November 1st from 10:30am to 11:30am. 40 children attended our introduction last Saturday and had a very enjoyable session and new attendees are welcome. Any parents who would be willing to help out would be greatly appreciated.

Our 125 Celebration Banquet takes place in the Landmark Hotel, Carrick on Shannon on Friday December 5th . Further details to follow. We plan to launch the second volume of the Club History on the night and research is progressing well. Photos of teams that won Finals during the last 35 years would be of great benefit, especially if they included dates and captions. Scór season is just around the corner and anyone interested in taking part in or helping out with Scór na nÓg (Under 17) is asked to contact 086 312 2897. Competitions include for Solo Singing, Recitation, Ballad Group and Question Time 

There was no winner of the weekend Club Lotto Draw. Numbers drawn: 9,21,23,28. The four lucky dip winners of €25 each were, Eric & Cathy Murray, ,Tom Evans, Athlone, A, J & R Collins, Smithill, and Aidan Murray. Next week’s draw will be held in the Bothar Rua on Saturday 1st.
