Elphin GAA Update March 28th

The club would like to thank everyone who entered the 2018 Senior Team Sponsor draw. Drino will take pride of place on the front of our jersey and Carrick Quads on the back. Congratulations to both. All the entrants will be displayed on a sign in Orchard Park and here on our website. Thank you to An Bothar Rua for hosting the event and to everyone who attended.

ABC Programme

The Agility, Balance and Coordination (ABC) programme for 4-7 year olds continues this Friday the 30th of March from 6:30- 7:30pm in Elphin Community Centre. All children in the parishes are welcome to attend.

Elphin/Ballinameen Round-up

Elphin Ballinameen U12 coaching continues on Wednesdays at 6.30pm in the Orchard.

Elphin Ballinameen U14s will play St Michaels in the reschedule game will on Friday next at 6pm in the Orchard.

The U16’s are at home to Strokestown on Monday 2nd April at 12pm.

Adult Football

Hard luck to the Seniors who were defeated by Roscommon Gaels on Saturday evening last. The juniors play St. Croans on 5.30 in the Orchard on Saturday next.

Elphin LGFA

Over 40 girls from Elphin & Kilmore from ages 8 to 15 years took over the Orchard Park today (Sunday). Our U16 team won their Division 1 Championship game V a strong Boyle side. This was the toughest game yet for these girls who turned over a halftime deficit of 5 points to win the game by 5 points with some great goals from Natasha Munnelly, Lauren Shanagher, Louise Enright and Emily Keane. Final score 4-10 to 4-05. Next game v Clan na Gael in 2 weeks.

Our U12 team took to the field for the first time and put on a great performance with a 1 score win over Shannon Gaels in this Round 1 League match. Next game Monday 2nd April V Boyle in the Orchard Park at 6pm. Many thanks to our new mentors who will look after this group and the best of luck with their new careers in Ladies Football.

Couch to 5K

Couch to 5km starting the 3rd of April in the orchard more details to follow during the week, please keep an eye on Facebook. We are looking to get as many people involved as possible so please come along. Contact Una Kiloran or Sharon Tansey for more information.

Scór Sinsear

Congratulations again to our Leiriu Group of Margaret Regan, Stephen Quinn and Ann-Marie and Michael Gunn who won the Connacht title. They will join our Quiz Team in the All-Ireland Finals, which will be held in Sligo on April 14th. The Quiz will begin at 11am and the other competitions at 3pm. This is an all ticket event and anyone interested in supporting the two Elphin teams is asked to please contact Michael at 086 3122897 to order tickets.

Elphin GAA Lotto:

There was no winner of last week’s lotto Jackpot, the Numbers Drawn were 8, 13, 14 & 28. The Lucky Dips winners are Brendan Kelly, Drinane; Kathleen Neary Clooncullane; John Lambert, Main St; Shane Lavin, Orchard Grove. Next week’s jackpot will be €5,600. The draw will take place in An Bothar Rua. Entry is just €2, Envelopes are available in local shops or you can play here.
