JUNIOR A:
The Junior A team came within seconds of reaching the championship semi final, on Sunday, in Castlerea, only to be denied by a superb Michael Glavey`s point at the death.
Elphin were slow to start and Glavey`s 1st team looked the sharper outfit. They were only denied a goal in the opening minutes by a brilliant point blank save by Brian Oates. Glavey`s were ahead by 2 points coming up to half time but Elphin were handed a lifeline with a penalty in the last minute of the half. Gerry Cregg made no mistake and Elphin were feeling fortunate to be leading 1-03 to 0-05 at half time.
Elphin improved in the 2nd half and could have been a few points up early in the half but some good scoring opportunities were missed. With time up and deep into injury time Glavey`s had one last chance and they took it with a brilliantly taken left footed point from a narrow angle. From the kick out the final whistle blew to leave the full time score Elphin 1-08 Michael Glavey`s 0-11.The replay is fixed for 12pm next Sunday in Castlerea.

U14 GARDA CUP:
The U14 team was beaten by Strokestown in the semi final of the Garda Cup last Tuesday in Tulsk. Final score Elphin 5-06 Strokestown 5-16.

The ladies U14 team had an impressive 10-01 to 1-02 win over Ballinameen in Ballinameen last Friday in the Div. 3 Championship Group A.
