Fight Night a huge success

A packed Balla Resource Centre provided the setting for a wonderful night’s entertainment for Mayo Gaels ‘Fight Night’ on Saturday last. The enthusiastic crowd were treated to 12 excellent bouts with a vast array of skills on show. All the hard training by the boxers proved fruitful as each bout was closely fought and ensured the judges were kept on their toes throughout. Some bouts were so closely fought that the judges could not find a winner. After the final bell sounded the crowd partied the night away to the small hours with some interesting dance moves on show! So much so that some of the crowd were in worse shape Sunday than the boxers!

Well done to all those involved in the preparation and on the night who ensured that things ran so smoothly. Special “thanks” has to go to the 24 lads who stepped into the ring putting their bodies on the line and providing this great entertainment. The club would like to thank all the sponsors who gave so generously to support the night. Also huge “thanks” to everyone who purchased tickets in advance, those who showed up on the night to support the boxers and those who bought raffle tickets. Overall this event proved to be a great fundraiser for the club and showed what the players can achieve when they put their minds to it. Well done lads.
