FIH Ladies Masters World Cup

November 8, 2018

Well done to Ireland's Ladies O50's masters team, who travelled to Canberra to compete in the FIH Masters World Cup. Special congratulations go to Siobhan Glynn, our only Connacht representative, from Renmore HC.

Having secured Bronze in the 2015 World Cup, the ladies' sights were set higher for 2016.

They played a series of round-robin matches against Canada, Wales, Australia, New Zealand & The Wattles (which are the Senior Australian Country Women's team, selected annually from the Australian National Hockey Championships)

Emerging top of pool standing, they faced second placed Australia in the final which they lost 3-2.  The top goal scorer of the tournament was Ireland's Cathy Walsh with 8 goals.

A great achievement from our Irish Ladies – WELL DONE!
