Senior News

The senior team were in action on Sunday last against Ballymahon in the All County League at Fr McGee Park.

We were defeated on a score line of 1-12 to 3-7. Fielding without Declan Farrell and Paul Murtagh, the team didn’t get going at all and conceded two soft goals in the first have that left us training by 6 points at half time (0-5 to 2-6).

We staged a great come back early in the second half and were pretty much ‘camped’ in the Ballymahon half for the entire half. We had a number of chances near the end to get at least a draw but we failed to take any of them. Ballymahon played a very defensive game putting a lot of men behind the ball during the whole game and this left them very difficult to break down.

We now must pick ourselves up to face Clonguish on Sunday next in a game that we need to win if we are to be serious contenders for the league and give ourselves a big boost going into the championship.

Team:
G Tonra, Podge Murtagh, D Murtagh, O McGivney, G Murtagh, D C Reilly, F Kavanagh, N Farrell, E Farrell, JP Reilly, D S Reilly, A Gormley, B McCabe, D McKeon, T Doyle.

 Subs: N Brady for D Murtagh, P Brady for T Doyle, P McKeon D S Reilly

Following the senior game, the Division 3 team recorded a good win over Killoe 6 (1-13 – 2-12). No match details available.  We are out against Clonguish next Sunday after senior game.
