The St. Patrick’s Gaelic4 mothers and others team which took part in the national Gaelic4 mothers blitz held in Dublin last weekend.
Earlier this year a Gaelic4mothers & others team was formed in Drangan and Cloneen. They have been training twice weekly and have played many games against other local teams. On Saturday last they travelled to Dublin to take part in the national blitz. A total of 84 teams from every part of the country took part in the blitz. The St.Patrick’s ladies had a most enjoyable day playing games against Thomastown of Kilkenny, Naoimh Mairtin’s of louth, St. Colmcille’s of Meath and Portmarnock of Dublin. The only downside to the day was an injury to Mairead Foley and we wish Mairead a speedy recovery.
Having shared a bus with the Ballingarry ladies, a stop at the Poitin still for refreshments was had on the way home before returning to Ballingarry for an enjoyable night after a long day. This brings an end to Gaelic4mothers action for this year and we would sincerely like to thank the team mentor Helen Hogan for all her hard work during the year.
Could we possibly see a Gaelic4 fathers in the future? “Non-competitive and just for fun”
