Galway Corinthians Youth Report

The Connacht league started this weekend and both the U15’s & U16’s getting off to a flyer with wins against Creggs and Ballina.

The U15’s won 69-5 vs Creggs, scoring 12 excellent tries, Paddy Griffin 3 tries, Phelim McGovern 3 tires, Niall Mulloy try, Rory O’Connor try, Paul Maher try, Mike O’Connell try, Rory Greene try, Daniel Trayers try and con, Phillip Murphy 2 conversions.

The U16’s won 60-0 vs Ballina, which was an outstanding effort by Damian Culkin with his tally of 5 tries, finishing off what was overall some excellent team tries. Cathal Evans 2 tries, Jack Fury 2 tries, Colin Joyce try and Colin Keane 5 conversions.

The U19’s had a narrow loss to Monivea away 17-24, but picked up a bonus point, Cian Hynes, 1 try, 2 cons, and a pen, Taigh Campbell try. Unfortunately Tom Connolly received a bad knee injury having to be taken away by ambulance we wish him a very quick recovery and best wishes.

The U16’s blue also had a friendly v Buccaneers with Buccs winning 26-5, Nathan King getting the only try for Corinthians.
