In line with upcoming legislation in the Republic of Ireland, the Irish Hockey Association Board of Management recently signed off on the IHA Garda Vetting Policy.
Vetting is the pre-checking of an applicant’s background for criminal convictions or prosecutions. Vetting is just one part of the IHA’s overall Recruitment and Selection Policy, the aim of which is to ensure that children and vulnerable people playing our sport do so in safe and fun environment.
Greenfields are currently implementing this policy among all members involved with children in the club.
