Go-Games get off to great start in Edenderry

The Under 10 Hurlers got their season off to a very successful start on Saturday morning with a series of convincing wins in the first U10 Go Games Mini Blitz of the Season.

Hosted by Edenderry GAA, teams from Na Fianna & Tullamore took part (Shamrocks were unable to travel).

The players, parents and coaches were treated to a great mornings hurling with each team and player playing 3 games of 20 minutes duration.

On the day both Edenderry Teams proved very strong and were Na Fianna and Tullamore struggled to keep pace with the Reds. In the final game of the day both Edenderry Teams played in a cracking game that finished Edenderry (2) 2-00 Edenderry (1) 0-04.

Both Edenderry Teams had big wins over Na Fianna and Tullamore respectively, whilst a goal fest from Na Fianna saw them overcome Tullamore in the final fixture.

The U12 Footballers had convincing wins over Gracefield tonight to give them vicotry on the night at 2 pts on the league table.

Our u 12s , got their season underway and off to a winning start last night with two super
wins against gracefield.

We had a panel of 22 so we had two 10 a side teams and a sub for each team , with all players getting at least 20 mins of football .

TEAM 1 was in goals EOIN BRERTON
the 3 backs were JACK GUING JACK STAUNTON and AARON MANGAN
the 3 midfielders were DAN MAGUIRE RYAN GLYNN and CONOR MC CARTHY
and the 3 forwards were CIARAN NOLAN CONOR DEMPSEY and BEN LYNCH
with RUAIRI EGAN been intoduced at half time.
This team won 15 – 11 to 1 – 2 …..

TEAM 2 was in goals LIAM COX
the 3 backs were TOMMY MC NAMARA DAN LOWRY and BRIEN NOLAN
the midfielders were JAMIE COATES CATHAL FARRELL and JOSH PERRY
the 3 forwards were CIARAN BREEN EOIN TYRELL and JOSH KAVANAGH
with CRAIG FARRELL been introduced at half time
this team won on a scoreline of 6 – 9 to 1 – 1.

With the new system of go – games its both scores added to determine the winners with Edenderry winning on a scoreline of 21 – 20 to 2 – 3 …..
