Goals vital as senior hurlers defeat Antrim

10 Mar 2013 |

Dublin followed up their opening night victory with a win ‘on the road’ in Sunday’s Allianz HL Division 1 clash in Casement Park.

In a lacklustre affair Dubin’s three goal were crucial in a game that neither side impressed in.

Paul Ryan hit the Dubs first goal in the seventh minute when he was in the right place at the right time to prosper from a long Peter Kelly delivery.

Four minutes before the break a goalward bound strike from half-back Michael Carton made it all the way to the net as good fortune shone on Anthony Daly’s men.

The Glensmen raised their game on the resumption when hitting four points in the opening ten minutes of the second half but their revival was brought to an end when David O’Callaghan scored Dublin’s third goal as they sailed to victory.

Dublin face Limerick next Saturday (5.0) in Croke Park in their next game – the curtain-raiser to the Dublin v Tyrone Allianz FL game.
