Good news from Cork

November 7, 2018

The under 9 boys set off at 7am Sunday morning to head to St.Finbars in Cork. Once they arrived they took Part in a parade. Our first games were against the home club St.Finbars. We won one and lost one to St.Finbars. Next up we're two matches against Kilmacud Crokes. Two tough games and we lost both but were very competitive. The final group matches were against the Tournament favourites Austin Stacks of Kerry. This was the third game in a role and tiredness from the early start was showing, also due to illness we had no subs available to rest anyone. The lads fought hard and had a drawn game and a lost by a point. We then had the shield final. We got the kids into the changing rooms for a rest and some food. This was just what they needed and went out and beat Bishopstown in the two match final without conceding a score in

either match. After the presentation of the shield to the lads. They had ice cream, and loads of grub provided by our great hosts St.Finbars. The lads had a great day and played so well considering the long journey. Next years under 9s have a great day to look forward to.
