Our Under 14’s put in a massive effort on Saturday in their County Quarter-Final, but still ended up on the wrong side of a 4-11 to 2-11 defeat.
In a valiant display, Urhan fought off a great start by St.Colum’s and managed to turn the tide to hold a deserved lead of 2-04 to 1-04 at the break.
Urhan continued to play fine football after the break, never flinching from their task. However, Colum’s older team took more of their chances and, with the wind at their backs, began to gain a slight upper-hand in possession. It was to prove telling as late goals sealed the win for the Kealkill side. Urhan can be very proud of the great skill, teamwork and workrate they displayed, and they certainly played their part in a great game.
