In 2013 the GAA created the Healthy Club Programme, with the support of the HSE, National Office for Suicide Prevention, Irish Life and Healthy Ireland. The intention of the programme is that every GAA club will become a hub for health and wellbeing.
The programme covers a variety of topics including –
· Physical activity
· Emotional wellbeing
· Training and personal development
· Healthy eating
· Gambling, drug & alcohol addiction
· Youth and community development including providing activities for older members of the community.
A small group of members have stepped forward and volunteered to launch this programme within St Sylvesters with the ambition that our club can be a more effective contributor to the health and wellbeing of our members and the broader community.
We are now seeking the support of other like-minded members who would like to get involved in supporting this programme within our club and also the community in Malahide.
If you would like to get involved please do so by contacting –
Barbara Condon bcondon.fast@gmail.com 0866083927
Maria Hughes mariairrancahughes1@gmail.com 086 312 7335
SarahannPotts sarahannpotts@live.ie 086 6083927
Please support this new programme that will further develop our club’s reach into our local community.
