Hilltown child safety signs welcomed - Caitríona Ruane

Ms Ruane said: This is a very busy road and the safety of children, their parents and teachers is a priority. The beacons are an important visual reminder to drivers that they are approaching a primary school. Along with my colleagues in Sinn Féin I have been campaigning for various road safety measures in Hilltown for a long time and it is very gratifying to see this work now bearing fruit. For instance, I am delighted that footpath improvements in the main street have already been completed and that, following my request,the installation of a 30mph roundel on the main Rostrevor to Hilltown Road has been ordered by Transport NI.”
