IFC Round One: Clonmore 0-11 St Patricks Tullow 0-14

November 8, 2018

Up against a physically strong and committed Tullow team inspired by county players Pauric Murphy and Jack Kennedy (0-8, 5f), we gave ourselves a mountain to climb with a below par performance in the first half. Our passing was poor, we struggled at midfield and missed three frees and a good goal chance. As a result, we found ourselves 0-10 to 0-3 down at half-time.
The lads put in a much improved performance in the second half and, although we came close on a few occasions, we couldn’t get the goal we needed to complete a spirited comeback. As a result of some determined play, we did manage to reduce the arrears to three points but unfortunately ran out of time. The next game in the Championship is against the Fighting Cocks in Tullow on Sunday next, 22 July, at 1pm. The Cocks beat Ballinabranna 0-12 to 0-8 in their First Round game.
