Ballygarvan kicked off their league campaign with a comprehensive win over Delanyes today at Dublin Hill. Ballygarvan hit the ground running with the opening score coming from the centre forward Alan Murphy. By half time Ballygavan had notched up an impressive 1-10 with all forward and mid-fielders contributing to the scoreboard. Ballygarvan only conceded three points in the first half with the Spillane’s, Alan Butler, Ciaran O’ Sullivan and Mark O’Callaghan all impressing in defense.
In the second half, the penetrating runs of James Browne cut open the Delaney’s defense on many occasions . An impressive Joe Canning like sideline cut from David O Sullivan extended Ballygarvan’s lead. Points from Stephen White, David O’Sullivan ,& Ken Ashman and a well taken goal from Mark Kennefick sealed a deserved victory for Ballygarvan.
