Due to the continuing problems of maintaining the goalmouth surface at the pitch in cloneen a new astro-turf type surface has been fitted in the the goalmouth at the village end of Anner Park. For years this goalmouth has been a nightmare for goalies as it usually contained a pool of water surrounded by humps and hollows. It was re-sodded on numerous occassions over the years but this proved only to be a temporary solution. Hopefully this new artificial surface which was funded by our Gaa club lotto will be a permanent solution and make life much easier for the goalkeepers that grace it.
