Coolaney/Mullinabreena GAA

Jubilee Celebration:

Plans are at the final stages for the upcoming celebration to mark the golden jubilee of our club’s famous senior championship win in 1958. There has been a fantastic response to date and we continue to encourage anyone with connections to Coolaney/Mullinabreena GAA club to come along for the historic commemoration. There are a number of tickets still available, priced at €55, so book immediately. Ticket sellers are: Oliver Lee(087 7981827), Eugene Henry(087 2447098), Shane O’Brien(086 3097483) and Brendan Kivlehan(087 2845687).

Outlined below is the running schedule for the day. A memorial mass will take place in the church of the Sacred Heart, Mullinabreena at 11.30am on Sunday October 26th. This is a dedicated mass to remember the deceased members of the 1958 panel and of our club throughout the years. Following this, the club will host a reception in St. Nathy’s Hall, Mullinabreena at 12.15pm, providing an opportunity to meet old teammates and friends. We feel this to be an integral part of the day giving people a chance to chat in a more relaxed environment. Refreshments will be offered and a photographic slide show will be on display during the reception to entertain the guests.

We will then adjourn to the Clarion Hotel at 7.15pm for a drinks reception followed by the Gala Banquet with dinner seated for 7.45pm. We look forward once again to the celebration on a day that promises to be a fantastic occasion for the team of ’58, family members, friends, our club today and the wider community.

Hard luck to St. Molaise Gaels who lost out to the Leitrim champions in the curtain raiser to the senior match.

Congratulations once again to Catríona Connolly who has been nominated for an all-star in ladies football for 2008. We wish Catríona the best of luck at the selection dinner dance in Dublin next month.
