Junior 'C' Championship Quarter Final: Clonmore 4-3 V Ballinabranna 0-11

November 8, 2018

Clonmore Juniors are through to a semi final meeting with Tinryland after their 4 point victory in the Training Centre Fenagh on Thursday night. In a closely fought game, which could have gone either way, Clonmore's ability to find the net was the major difference between the sides. By a remarkable coincidence Clonmore recorded exactly the same score when beating  B'Branna by 4-3 to 2-8 in the League.

Ballinabranna raced into a three point lead before two identical goals put Clonmore into a 2-1 to 0-4 lead at half-time. Scored by Daniel Quigley and Paul Byrne, the goals came from speculative kicks from 40 metres that deceived the goalkeeper and ended up in the net. Second half goals by Quigley, with a clinical finish, and a well taken effort from Cian Heffernan on 55 minutes kept Clonmore ahead and ensured a hard earned victory.

Semi final vs Tinryland is down to be played on Thursday September 8 again in Fenagh TC.
