Annaghdown 2-11
Carnmore 1-13
With a gutsy performance Annaghdown overcame Carnmore in the Junior championship on the own turf on Tuesday night. Carnmore with the advantage of the elements started brightly and led 0-3 to 0-1 before Declan Regan rattled the Carnmore net from close range. A younger and fitter Annaghdown dominated from there to the break and led 1-6 to 0-5 at the break. Carnmore called on all their experience in the second period, keeping proceedings tight and the men in maroon could not break away despite doing most of the hurling. A second goal from Regan put Annaghdown four up with ten minutes remaining the reds responded in kind with a late goal to draw the game. A late Annaghdown attack resulted in a free which Peter Hession duly converted to give Annaghdown victory by the minimum.
