Junior Football Championship

Our Junior Footballers played their third game of the championship last Saturday evening in Marlfield where Ballylooby were the opposition. After failing to win our first 2 games a win a win here was vital to get back on track. Unfortunately due to injuries and holidays we fielded an under strength team but credit must go to the lads who took to the field as they fought until the final whistle but came up short in the end on a scoreline of 2-12 to 1-6. One positive from the match was the return to the field of play by Paul Horan after his recent illness. It was great to see him coming back and we hope to see more of him as the summer goes on. The team on the night was: Richie Needham, Shane Gorey, Ciaran Mockler, Michael Boland, Conor Gorey, Paddy Moroney, Conor Clancy, Joey Noonan, Nicky Kearney, Kieran Clancy, Tony O'Brien, Brian Anglim, Willie O'Brien, Cameron Moynihan, Eamon Needham, Paul Horan, John Moroney and Keelan O'Neil. We now have 2 games left to play in the football championship and will probably have to win both of them to have a chance of qualifying for the knockout stages.

Our Junior hurlers play Carrick Swan this Wednesday in Kilsheelan at 7;30 in a play off with the winner heading to the quarter finals where they will play Fr Sheehys. Our Junior hurlers will also see action in the County League when they will play Grangemockler in Cloneen at 12 this Sunday.

Our Minor hurlers also play this Sunday when they play Kilsheelan in Carrick at 7.
