Our Junior A hurlers began their championship campaign last Saturday evening in Clonmel where Ballybacon-Grange were the opponents. After beating us in the South Final last year we were hoping to get one over on them. The first half was a tight affair but unfortunately 2 red cards for us in the half made it an uphill battle but our lads battled on and went in at half time leading by a point. The second half was point for point the whole through until 5 minutes from the end when a Ballybacon-Grange goal effectively put them out of reach and they ran out winners on a scoreline of 1-13 to 0-12. Great credit must go to our lads who fought to the end and never gave up. The team on the night was: John Moroney, Conor Gorey, Paddy Moroney, Jason Hayes, Conor Clancy, Cathal Mahony, Shane Gorey, Aidan Buckley, Tony O'Brien, Aaron Cronin, Richie Needham, Nicky Kearney, Mark Mullally, Mark Slattery, Neil Gleeson, Robbie McCormack, Colm Dunne, Robbie Meagher, Willie O'Brien, Ciarán Mockler, Dermot Molloy, Damien Barry, Cameron Moynihan.

Our next game is this Saturday the 20th May in Kilsheelan at 7.00 where Carrick Swan will be the opposition.
