After the disappointment of losing to Kiladangan the week before in the County Quarter Final, attention turned to the South Final against Ballybacon last Saturday. We were hoping to become the first team ever to win 3 South Junior A titles in a row. Unfortunately for us Ballybacon were the better team on the day and they won comfortably on a scoreline of 2-19 to 1-11. After a year that promised so much at the start, our juniors are left without any silverware to show for all their effort. We would like to thank all the players and management for all their effort and time they put in throughout the year. The team on the day was: Robbie McCormack, Conor Clancy, Damien Barry, Paddy Moroney, Nicky Kearney, Neil Gleeson, Conor Barry, Aidan Buckley, Shane Gorey, Mark Mullally, Tony O'Brien, Robbie Meagher, Niall Keane, Richie Needham, Brendan Gleeson, Danny Gleeson, Paul Horan, Darren Boland, Mark Slattery, Ciaran Mockler, Colm Dunne, Eamon Needham, Willie O'Brien, Marcus O' Halloran, Conor Cuddihy.
Our U.21 hurlers were due to play Carrick Swan last Sunday but had to give a walkover due to Fethard’s involvement in the County Intermediate Football Final next weekend.
