Juniors narrowly beaten. Davitts 0-14 Mayo Gaels 0-11

Our junior team were narrowly beaten in Ballindine on Wednesday evening in the last round of the South Mayo Junior championship. In an entertaining game very little separated the sides throughout and this was reflected in halftime score of 0-5 each. The Gaels points coming from two Jonathan Griffin frees and points from play by Damien Quinn, Allyn Brett and Keith Walsh. In a hard hitting second half Davitts had the upper hand but the Gaels kept in touch through points from play by Damien Quinn, John Sloyan and James McGing. They also added three frees with Damien Quinn getting two and Jonathan Griffin landing another but Davitts ran out three point winners on a final score line of Davitts 0-14 Mayo Gaels 0-11. The juniors are in action again in the Mayo Junior B championship at home to Ballinrobe on Friday evening at 8pm.
