U12 Football Final

Lisgould 1-10 Bride Rovers 2-4

This was a hard fought game and we were unlucky on the night. All the lads played well and can be proud of their display. Lisgould got off the mark first with a point but we were quick to respond with a goal from Jessie. Our defence Shane Brian John and Eoin were playing well. With DJ fielding some great balls and sending them forward. Jessie won a free in the forward line and converted a point. Shane o Connor sent a great ball to Dylan who scored a point. Lisgould moved forward to score a point. Adam then showed some great speed and scored a point. Both Rovers and Lisgould sent a number of balls wide before Lisgould finished the half stronger scoring a goal and 2 points. With Griffin working hard which resulted in Dylan scoring a point. The first half finished all square at 1-4 each.

The second half started at the same pace with Lisgould converting 4 points from frees. We had some chances but on the night couldn’t score. Leon and Jordan were working tirelessly and sending the ball into the square. Conleth and Jack were winning some good ball and we were awarded a penalty from which Adam scored a goal. We were in with a chance however Lisgould attacked again scoring a point from a free. Again we sent a few chances wide and just as we were nearing the final whistle Lisgould were awarded a penalty. Tadgh stood tall in goal and the ball was driven over the bar.

Our U14 hurlers played Youghal and Russell Rovers recently and were well beaten in both games. We were also defeated by Glanmire in football. This was the first tim e this year that we had a full squad , but we came out second best in a high scoring game.

4 of our U14 players represented us in the Imokilly Feile skills in Cobh recently. Cian O’Connor had a great win in the football skills and will represent Imokilly at the County Feile skills. William Finnegan finished 2nd in the Hurling skills, Tadgh O’Sullivan was 3rd in the Long kick and Darren Moore did well in a very competitive Lock puck. Congratulations to all 4 players who did the club proud.
