U8’s do well in hurling Blitz
We played our first hurling Blitz of 2009 in Lisgoold on Friday evening 8th May. Three other teams were involved in the blitz – the host team Lisgoold, Castlelyons and Ballinacurra. We had 23 players on the night and split our players into two teams. Our older team were slightly stronger than Lisgoold in the first game and matched Ballinacurra in their last game. Meanwhile our younger team drew with Lisgoold’s younger team but Ballinacurra proved too strong for them. Castlelyons only had one team on the night, we drew with them in that game.
The boys who played on the night were:
Patrick O’Flynn, Cian Hogan, Kieran Kearney, Mathew Quinn, Michael Quinlan, Eoghan O’Sullivan, Oisin Roche, Jack Ryan, Seamus Aherne, Joe Twomey, Rian Pegler, Dylan O’Leary, Darragh O’Sullivan, Tiernan McAllister, Cormac Finn, Adam O’Callaghan, Shaun Knox, Fionn McAulliffe, Dean Browne, Tomas Macak, Adam Grogan, Sam O’Mahony, Ryan Cahill.
The main focus of the blitz was on fun for all participants, every child played in all games with treats for everyone at the end. Well done to all the players and thank you to the Lisgoold club for hosting the event and making it a great night for all.
