U10’s play Watergrasshill in Decky Guckian League

Round 5 of the Decky Guckian League took place in Watergrasshill on Sunday April 5th. The Hill began attacking from the outset with Daniel and James being particularly strong around midfield. Shaun Knox was defending well in goal and was unlucky to have two goals go past him. Patrick and Shane O’Flynn were defending well and Adam O’Sullivan was putting in a much stronger performance at mid field this week. Eoin Roche’s first touch of the ball was quite quick and Jordan Mannix was coping well outfield. Adam O’Sullivan was fouled in attack and was awarded a free. He went on to score a classic goal to open the scoring for Bride Rovers. The Hill were still adding points but no further goals were scored for them. Conleth Ryan was a dominant force for the Rovers and was fouled in attack. He went on to score a great point. A Bride Rovers player was fouled and John O’Sullivan stepped up to score the second point for the Rovers. Dathal Kent and Beneoin O’Brien Whitmarsh upped their performance considerably this week. Spirited performances were given by Kieran Kearney and James Quirke in defence and our courageous forwards Peter O’Leary and Ben Hogan were unlucky not to get on the scoreboard. The final score was Watergrasshill 2-7 to Bride Rovers 1-2. Round 6 of the Decky Guckian League is against Carrigtwohill next weekend,
