Kate Russell All-Ireland Schoolgirls Championships

Kate Russell was one of the most influential figures in the history of the Irish Ladies' Hockey Union. Her utter dedication to the game was of huge benefit to the ILHU.
Kate died in 1978 after 50 years of service to the game, and two years after her death, the Kate Russell Schoolgirls Championships were instituted.
They have been played on an annual basis, the 2014 tournament taking place on Thursday, 27th and Friday, 28th March in St Andrews College, Booterstown, Co Dublin.
 
The following five teams, having won their provincial School's Cup Competition, will take part in the All-Ireland's:
 
Ulster:          Lurgan College (Current title holders)
Munster:      Crescent College, Limerick
Leinster:       St. Andrew's College, Booterstown
Connacht:    Salerno Secondary School, Galway
South East:  Kilkenny College
