The Kate Russell Cup is the highlight of the schools sporting year and is feverishly attended and supported by pupils from the competing schools.
Colaiste Iognáid Senior Hockey Squad (aka the Jes), have qualified for this competition, representing Connacht.
With almost half of the squad also playing for Greenfields, it is expected that they will have huge success this year.
Coached by Imelda Brennan, & managed by Rita Ryan, preparations have gone very well for this squad.
Best of luck to the Jes team, especially Greenfields players Orla Callanan (Capt), Brenda Flannery (V.Capt.), Niamh Callanan, Katie Codyre, Niamh Codyre, Dinah D’Arcy, Gráinne Mulkerrin & Alison Ryan.
This year the ESB Kate Russell will be held on 19th & 20th March, in Three Rock Rovers H.C., Grange Road, Rathfarnham.
It will be televised by Setanta Sports, and will be aired at 6pm on the 24th, 25th & 26th of March
