We play Mid Kerry this Sunday 16th November 2008 at 3.00pm in Fitzgerald in the 2008 Kerry Senior County Championship final, looking to bring the Bishop Moynihan Cup home for the first time since 2002.

The opposition Mid kerry have been one of the most formidable opponents in the championship for the last few years, and very unlucky not to have one a county title.

The Mid Kerry outfit come into this game after beating a fancied Dr Crokes team and Laune Rangers on the way to the Final.

Only a top class performance by our boys next Sunday will bring the cup home.

• MUNSTER QUARTER-FINAL

Munster Championship versus Nemo Rangers

Kerins O Rahillys 0-12 Nemo 2-12

Last Sunday we travelled to take on Nemo Rangers in Pairc Uí Chaoimh in the quarter final of the Munster Championship.

On a day more suited for rain gear than football gear we took the field against this fancied Nemo team who were after winning their fourth Cork county title in a row and sporting many of Corks football stars past and present and even future.

Our team took to the field with a very positive attitude even thought we did have the county final looming next Sunday.

The opening minutes saw Nemo launch attack after attack and during one of these, a long probing ball flew into our square and was fisted to the net by the Nemo corner forward.

After this initial set back we settled down and battled hard against Nemo eventually clawing our way back on level terms.

All this hard work was undone by Nemo in the 19th minute when some good approach play released the Nemo forward line to punish us with another well taken goal. The O’Rahillys heads never dropped and at half time the lead was 4 points in favour of Nemo.

The second half saw Kerins O Rahilly’s stage a comeback, the side were only separated by a point when some decisions did not go our way and the Nemo boys opened up a lead we would never close.

The result was disappointing to the lads and the injury to Barry John Walsh put a higher price on the loss with the county final next Sunday, but this is a young team and the venture into Munster against the might of Nemo will stand to these guys in the future.

Thanks to all the supporters who travelled to Cork last Sunday, much appreciated by the team and management.
