Senior Hurling.

Knockavilla / Donaskeigh Kickhams senior hurlers travelled to Bansha on Saturday last to play Cappawhite in the second round of the West Senior hurling championship. With both teams yet to register a victory this game was of vital importance for one or the other to get back on track. Our lads  made a slow start but  became stronger as the half wore on, playing some lovely direct hurling and went in at the break level  0-11 to 1-8 and perhaps could have been in front. The second half from a Kickham point of view was a strange one indeed; our lads just could not get back into the rhythm that had seen them hold their own in the first half. The Cappa lads on the other hand seemed to get stronger and were deserving winners on the score 1.19 to 0-14. The management and players are very disappointed at the manner of the defeat especially given the performance of the first half, however they must get their minds back in focus very quickly as they face  Clonoulty Rossmore  in the next  round in Leahy Park Cashel on this Sunday, throw in @ 3.30pm. The recent meetings of theses two teams have been very close affairs and we all hope that the lads can at last put in the full match performance we know is in them and perhaps gain our first points of the championship. We would again appreciate your support on the day.
