Leagues.The Co. hurling leagues were back last weekend .Both our teams were at home for their opening matches. Our juniors had a great win over astrong Ballylooby team in a cracking game in their first round game on the score 2-15 to 2-13. There were some very good performances  byKickham players in this one and the senior ranks could be beckoning for some.They travel to Cloneen on Sunday next for their second roundgame with St Patricks throw in @ 12pm. Our seniors were beaten by Borrisokane in their first round game on the score 3-18 to 0-10. Wewere missing a number of  players for this one, but some of those that did play will surely have to show improvement in the coming weeks asthe West championship is not far away.We play Golden Kilfeacle in the next  round in Dundrum on St Patricks Day at 12pm. We wish both ourteams the very best and we look forward to plenty of support on both days.U/21(B) Football.Our U/21 footballers play Aherlow in the West semifinal  in New Inn on Saturday next at 2.30pm. Aherlow are a very strong team with asprinkling of  County players but if our lads play to their potential they will make a great game of it and hopefully claim  a place in thefinal.We really need your support for this one so please travel and shout your Parish on.Sympathy.We offer our deepest sympathies to Joan Doherty (nee Kennedy) Gortadloe, Nenagh and Clonaspoe on the death on Monday the 7th ofMarch of her beloved husband Gerry Doherty. All players to bring 2 euro. U/16 trainingcontinues in the Canon Hayes Complex every Wednesday night  from  8 to 9pm. Again all players to bring 2 euro.Knockavilla/ Donaskeigh Kickhams Camogie Club Notes.The various panels in the club are up and running with training sessions as they each prepare for their first games in the next fewweeks.The junior panel this year is being trained & coached by Claire Ryan of Cashel & Eoghan O Brien & Don Kennedy. The first game for thispanel is a league clash with Annacarty at the end of the month.The U8 panel of players under the management of Leonie Loughman alsoresumed training indoors last Friday night, and continues again this weekend from 6pm to 6.45pm. Any new members interested are verywelcome to come along.The U10 and U12 panels this year are managed by Claire Ryan & Margaret O Carroll, and they too have resumed indoor training also on Fridaynights from 6.45pm to 7.30pm. Again, any new members are most welcome to come along.Alan Horgan has committed to managing the U14 panel, and their first night back indoor training had a great turnout. This team will becompeting in their first championship match in early April.Unfortunately, we are still actively looking for someone to manage & train our U16 panel, as their first competitive game is also earlyApril. It was a great night and we raised over 2000 euro and are well on the way to our target of 4500 euro.Thanksagain.KNOCKAVILLA COMMUNITY COUNCIL NOTESDiscoThe Community Council will host another disco for all primary school children on next Friday night March 18th in the Community hallKnockavilla from 7.30pm to 8.45pm. €3 per child or €5 per family.Table QuizOur annual primary schools table quiz will take place in Knockavilla hall on Friday night march 25th at 7.45pm. This quiz has grown inpopularity over the years amongst all the schools in the area, with teams competing in two categories, 3rd & 4th class for the councilshield while the Michael Breen perpetual trophy will go to the winning team in the 5th & 6th class category.Annual pilgrimage.The annual pilgrimage to Knock will take place on the 24th and 25th of May more details nearer the time.Knockavilla graveyardTipperary S.R. County Council wish to announce that the purchase price for a grave space in the new graveyard in Knockavilla for 2011 is nowpriced at €600. This price is also subject to a VAT rate of 13.5% which brings the final price to €681.Knockavilla /Donaskeigh Youth Club.Knockavilla/Donaskeigh Youth Club continues every Friday night in Knockavilla Community centre from 7 pm to 8.30pm. The first few weekshave been  great fun for all concerned. The club is open to 8-12 year olds attending  primary school.
