U/12 Hurling
On Tuesday night the 7th September all roads led to Cappawhite for the under 12 Hurling Shield Final against Lattin/Cullen. Both teams were at full strenght for this keenly contested final with Kickhams accounting for Rosgreen in the Semi Final. The first half was even with the Kickhams leading 4points to 3 at half time. At the start of the second half Kickhams began to exert pressure on the Lattin Goal which paid off with goals coming from Ger Browne and Zach O Halloran and some fine point scoring from out the field. A well deserved victory soon followed for this great under 12 panel who have improved as the year went on.Kickhams captain Ger Browne later accepted the Shield from west board chairman Joe Hammersley. We thank referee Tommy Fitzgerald for his handling of this game and the Cappawhite club for the use of their facilities. Thanks also to the under 12 management of John Mc Cormack,Christy Ryan, Seamie O Halloran and Seamus Furlong for their committement during the year to this group of players. However the Cashel lads got the vital scores in the end that saw them safely through. We wish Dean Thompson and Jake O Halloran speedy recoveries from injuries suffered in the game. Match report next week.
Congratulation to Tipperary U21 team on winning our second All-Ireland in six days.
