TABLE QUIZ.

The juvenile club will hold a table quiz in The Venue, Dunrum House Hotel on Saturday  next the 1st of February @9pm.

40 euro for a table of 4, your support would be appreciated.

 

TRAINING RESUMES.

We return to training on Thursday the 6th of February in the Canon Hayes Sports Complex in Tipperary Town. All U/12s,

U/14s &U/16s  will train from 7 to 8pm.

 

BADMINTON CLUB.

New members are badly needed for the badminton Club which continues every Monday and Thursday night from 8pm in the Scout

Centre Dundrum. This is a great sport and the facilities at the Scout Centre are second to none. It would be a great shame

to see the club fold.

A kiddies disco will take place for all primary school children on Friday January 31st from 7.30pm til 9pm.

Knockavilla Community Council now has a Face book page where you can keep up to date with all the activities involving the

community council and the hall in Knockavilla.

 

SLIEVENAMON CLIMB:

 A sponsored walk of Slievenamon will take place on Sun 9th Feb in aid of hall development, Entry 15 euro single, family

20 euro or take a sponsor card, refreshments in the Coachman pub in Clonmel after, Please ring/txt Kieran Slattery on

 DEFIBRILLATOR COLLECTION

 The Community Council are continuing their campaign to collect all used mobile phones to help us to get a defibrillator

put in place in Knockavilla village. There are collection boxes in all the local shops in Knockavilla and Dundrum, and

also in Knockavilla church to facilitate the collections. Remember, if any one received a new phone over the Christmas

maybe the old phone could be donated to this cause.

HALL AVAILABLE

 The community hall in Knockavilla is now available for hire for any activity either for parish groups or to families for

various occasions. The committee can also facilitate the use of an indoor bouncy castle for children’s birthday parties.

CONGRATS AVERYL.

Heartiest congrats to Averyl Fryday of Ballinamona on her fantastic victory in the  60 kg Category at the All Ireland

Boxing Finals which were held in The National Stadium on Saturday afternoon last. This is an astonishing achievement for

Averyl who only took up the sport last year. We all wish her every success in the boxing ring in the future.

 

KNOCKAVILLA N.S. NEWS.

CROSS BORDER CHOIR CONCERT IN U.L.

On Saturday February 8th the 6th Class pupils of Scoil Mhuire Knockavilla will take part in the Cross Border Orchestra

Choir in U.L.The Cross Border Orchestra of Ireland (CBOI) was established in 1995 as a peace initiative and is composed

of 120 young children from all over Ireland – north and south. The CBOI is recognised internationally as one of Ireland’s

flagship peace initiatives and has become one of the most acclaimed orchestras that Ireland has ever produced. The

orchestra is led by some of Ireland’s top professionals musicians including Gearoid Grant.

 

This spring the CBOI will perform in Dublin, Limerick, Killarney, Belfast and Kilkenny. The pupils from Knockavilla,

together with pupils from schools all over Munster, will take part in the orchestra choir on February 8th at 2pm.

Rehearsals have been taking place over the past months and the concert promises to be a real treat for all who will

attend. The pupils and teachers in Scoil Mhuire are looking forward to the chance of singing with a full orchestra in

front of their families and friends.
