SALE OF WORK/FIREWOOD AUCTION.
Knockavilla Donaskeigh Kickhams will hold their annual Sale of work/ Wheel of Fortune and Firewood auction on Sunday the 17th November. As with
every other year we are asking landowners or anyone with access to firewood to please donate some trailer loads if at all possible. With this
present dry spell fields are very drivable throughout the Parish and we are willing to cut any unwanted firewood if you cannot do so yourself.
Please contact Tommy Hayes @ 087-7934739 , Kevin Farrell @ 087-6857564 , Pat Mc Cormack @ 087-7986234 , or Sean Breen @ 087-2646441 .
The Kickhams firewood auction with its tractor and car trailer loads of quality hard wood as well as Spruce for stoves, all blocked and split is
a great fundraiser for the club and along with the Sale of work and Wheel of Fortune has contributed greatly to reducing the outstanding balance
of the financial debt owed by the club. A debt that was necessarily accrued during the development works that included the purchase of lands
from Coillte Teo to develop a new field as well as the works that were carried out on the entire property, New spectator Stand, Dressing rooms,
Perimeter fencing, hurling wall and much more all to ensure that the playing and meeting facilities at Kickham Park in Dundrum are of the highest
quality and are being enjoyed and appreciated by all within the entire club, including Juvenile, Camogie as well as the Senior section of the
Knockavilla Donaskeigh Kickham GAA Club. So in the coming weeks we will be holding meetings to organize the various events on the day and we would
appeal to all involved in or with an interest in Gaelic games in our Parish to please come along, get involved with your club and help our native
games to continue to proper in our Parish and community.

DUNDRUM TIDY TOWNS NOTES
The results of the 2013 National Tidy Towns Competition were published recently and we are delighted to report that Dundrum has achieved a
fantastic score of 287, a full seven marks higher that the 280 points achieved in 2012. The result was way above the committee’s expectations and
it places Dundrum in clear third position in its county category with only Emly and Kilsheelin surpassing us. It also sees Dundrum move into sixth
position overall in the South Tipperary standings. The result certainly reflects the continuing improvement to the village’s appearance, as well
as the increase in community involvement in activities, initiatives and events, and we think all would agree that the village has been looking
particularly well throughout 2013. As well as all our volunteers and supporters, the committee would like to give a special mention to FAS and
the Dundrum Residents Association. The work of these groups came in for particular mention in the adjudicators report and they continue to
contribute greatly to maintaining the high standards throughout the village. We are already busy working on a programme of activities for 2014
so hopefully there will be more improvements to come.

HOSPICE DONATION.
The Dundrum Tidy Towns Committee was delighted to be able to make a donation of €338 to the South Tipperary Hospice movement on Thursday last in
Dundrum House Hotel. The money represents the proceeds of their sale of cakes and refreshments at the Dundrum village food fair, which took place
as part of The Dundrum International Dexter Gathering on August 21st. last. Where possible, our Tidy Towns group will continue in its support of
this most important cause.

DUNDRUM INTERNATIONAL DEXTER GATHERING
Following on from the great success of the event itself, The Dundrum International Dexter Gathering has now been nominated for a prestigious
national award. South Tipperary County Council has put the event forward as the sole nomination from South Tipperary for “The Gathering Ireland
2013: Community Gathering of the Year Award”, supported by Chambers Ireland. The competition has now closed for entries with the short listing of
nominees expected to take place sometime in advance of the official award ceremony in November. Another huge thank you is due to everyone connected
to the event and we are now all hoping that we will make it through to the next stage of the selection process.

HOSPICE COFFE MORNING
The Annual Coffee Morning in aid of South Tipperary Hospice will be held on tomorrow Thursday the 19th of Sept in Butler’s Centra Dundrum from
9.00am to 2.00pm and in Dundrum House Hotel from 10.30 to 11.30. A cake sale and raffle will also take place. Please support this very worthy cause.
