KNOCKAVILLA COMMUNITY COUNCIL NOTES.

SCHOOLS QUIZ

The annual primary schools table quiz ill take place on Friday February 22nd at 7.45pm in Knockavilla hall. The categories in the quiz cater for third and fourth
class who play for the community council shield, while the winners of the fifth and sixth class category will claim the Michael Breen perpetual trophy. The entry
fee is E12 for at table of 4. All schools are welcome to send as many teams a they wish. This table quiz has proven to be a great success down the years.

COMMUNITY TEXT ALERT.
The launch night of the text alert scheme was a huge success, with a fantastic turnout. The audience heard from James O Neill from Muintir na Tire, Garda Mick
Mahoney and Very Rev Fr Jim Egan PP. The committee still have some houses to call to, and these will be done over the next few weeks. Meanwhile, with the help form the local FAS scheme, the road signs will be erected throughout the parish to highlight the operation of the scheme. Meanwhile, the committee are now looking at mapping the parish which would assign every house with map coordinates. This system would enable every householder to give their house coordinates to the emergency services, rather than trying to give directions. This plan is at the grant application stage, so hopefully it can get the green light.

GRAVEYARD REGISTER.
The community council loaned out the register book for Ballintemple graveyard some few years ago. Unfortunately, the book wasn’t returned, so if anyone has it could
they make contact with any member of the council to arrange its return.
